What financial support is there when employing apprentices aged 16 – 18 years?
The government offers a £1,000 grant for hiring apprentices aged 16-18, paid £500 at three months and £500 at twelve months to the training provider and passed fully to the employer. This recognises that younger apprentices may need more mentoring and support due to less experience and confidence in their roles. The grant incentivises employers to provide additional support for these apprentices.
