Are there any specific mathematics and English qualification prerequisites for engaging in an apprenticeship?

To achieve a Level 3 Apprenticeship, learners must hold a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English. If your child has attained a level 4 (equivalent to a C) or higher in Maths and English, they are exempt from taking Functional Skills in Maths and English alongside their qualification. Nonetheless, we will continue to strengthen their maths and English skills throughout their studies. For learners who haven't obtained a Level 4 (equivalent to C) or higher in Maths and English, they must study and pass a Level 2 Functional Skills exam in both subjects. Failing this exam will impede their ability to complete the apprenticeship, as it is an essential requirement. Students will be provided with suitable tasks on BKSB to support their skill development.
